...so, I got the job.

I report in for orientation at ten o' clock sharp tomorrow morning. Formally dressed, huh, but otherwise there has been much joyful squeeing and happy dancing over here. It may not be my dream job but it pays well - especially for an entry level job - and I get commissions.

Of course this means that I already have people coming around making grabby hands - not all of them joking, I'm sure. However, the child in me is looking forward to dropping this particular bombshell on the extended family on Wednesday; finally I'll be able to turn around and give all the naysayers the finger.

...and now to return to the happy dancing!

Not much to report beyond the fact that I have been going to job interviews this week. The one I went to yesterday seems to have gone really well since I've already been notified that I've made it through to the second round of interviews.

The job itself pays well; eight thousand, five hundred bucks plus petrol money and commissions. And, sure, money is an important factor especially since I'm planning on possibly doing a second degree at some point, but I also got a good vibe off them so keeping my fingers crossed.

Unfortunately this'll probably impact my online times but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Livejournal is being impossibly slow for me at the moment and I have no idea why. Hopefully it isn't another DDos attack, because that would just be perfect.

Actually I probably shouldn't complain too much. I've been meaning to take a bit of a hiatus for a while but, like all things internet related, it never really sticks.

Saw Rise of Planet of the Apes tonight. It was much better than what I was expecting. I also love the orangutan. The orangutan was awesome!

Tomorrow I must go to the bank and do responsible adult type things like arrange for a new debit card. I'm so utterly fed up with banks in general - which is why I usually avoid them like the plague - so I'm not really looking forward to that.

Otherwise, library trip and ballet on the weekend.

It's been ages since I've seen something remotely cultural, which is sad considering I used to go with my grandmother all the time. It's an overseas company - Russian, I think - so that should be interesting. I do not know nearly as much about the different sorts of companies as I probably should but I imagine that the sheer novelty of overseas dancers should be somehow new and exciting.

And then there's the music.

I wonder if we'll have a proper orchestra this time around?

Got another surprise birthday present this weekend -- well, strictly speaking I guess it's more three than one; two charms (complete with Grid bugs oh my goodness!) and the picture, but I'm hardly going to nitpick now am I? Presents are presents are presents and the two little charms are so very delightful and completely unique.

So there's definitely that.

Saw Captain America yesterday. I feel rather bad that the whole time I was watching, I was thinking: LOKILOKILOKILOKILOKI!

...who didn't really appear until that little Easter egg thing at the end and even then only briefly. Hugo Weaving did a good job as Red Skull though, I thought. It's difficult to take anyone with a red face like that seriously and yet he managed to be both sinister and intimidating. So good on him for that.

I'm still trying to figure out how they made Chris Evans so puny. I realize - especially after seeing Christian Bale in The Machinist - that it's likely that they could have probably managed at least part of it with extreme weight loss there were some little quirks that make me wonder if there wasn't some sort of elaborate computer trickery involved, and if so I have to say that they're getting better at that sort of thing. It's one thing to do something with visual effects, it's another thing entirely to do it well.
